What happens when the unthinkable happens? When a loved one passes away abruptly? Some folks move on quickly, some don't. In this situation where a family member found another family dead (and it wasn't your normal situation either). I can only assume that the living family member pretty much gave up on life and stopped any form of cleaning during the grieving process. Years later we were called in to clean up years worth of filth - from mice feces to layers of grease, dirt and grime from practically every surface area in the apartment: The bathrooms, the closets, the kitchen, the living room and the bedrooms.
Step 1: Identify a plan of attack and share it with the customer
Step 2: Get to work on slowly breaking away at the build up - this requires commercial grade chemicals and equipment and the knowledge and background from years of experience in this field.
Step 3: Update the customer on the progress at the end of each shift.
Step 4: Now that the big stuff is broken down and "bulk cleaned" - time for the detailing - This is where you can fine tune the cleaning.
Step 5: Contact the customer and show them that the situation has been fully remedied - this is where all that hard work pays off. Seeing the customer smiling, knowing that at least one part of this nightmare is over :)
In the cleaning world you just never know what the next call will bring. In this tragic event, the customer called very worried, very stressed out and completely overwhelmed. In these rare events you have to approach the project with compassion, understanding and Love. We feel as though we not only helped the customer to calm down and tackle a project that may have seemed impossible for most companies, but we also feel as though we gained a brand new friend in the process - and that is invaluable!
